Hello my name is Andrea Gomes and my extended project is all about
influences
of teenagers and how their surroundings have an impact on their personal
achievement and how it has changed over time as well as well as social habits
; talking about more of their social and emotional development throughout
their stages from a teenager and the obstacles that arise through their lifes
(media). I personally chose this topic as I feel I'm of advantage and a victim of this as I'm currently in the process of growing up and making decisions I can more or less relate and have a connection to this topic. This topic is to not only raise public awareness for people within society but also to deepen my knowledge and understanding moreover to give me an insight on what's possibly forthcoming.
I've done research on how the media has an effect on teenagers and found intriguing statistics that have a relation to my topic as stated
The media is all around teenagers every day, with 94% of them owning a Facebook account and around 60% watching TV for up to 20 hours a week. The media influences a lot of them, but is it positive or negative?
It could be argued that the media could be of beneficial use to teenagers as using the media is for educational purposes yet statistics evidently state that the use of social networking for teenagers is of negative use as it's seen as a distraction to their daily lives.
My aim for this project is too broaden teenagers knowledge and give them the ability to understand that your choices of what you do from as young as adolescence will have an impact on future opportunities.
I intend to create an assembly with it having a significant purpose to the students in my school. I've decided to appoint a group of year 10 students as my sample size as I feel they are about roughly in the best position for me to present this presentation to.
This assembly I plan to do is all about CHOICES as I feel choices could been seen as an understatement but for my project it will be the word that should enhance them in various ways.
